Telling My Story…

I grew up in a loving, working class, traditional Italian-American, Catholic home. Although an excellent, motivated student, there were very few choices offered to a young woman of my socio-economic background other than marriage and children. At 21, I was married with 2 babies.

The marriage ended, and after several years of being a working mother of 2 young sons, I was blessed with a new marriage and a beautiful daughter. I started attending college while raising three children and working part-time in a women’s health clinic. My passion and commitment to women’s issues remain an integral part of my life and work. Ten years later, I graduated from Bryn Mawr College, as a Katharine McBride Scholar, majoring in English and Women’s Studies. I recently earned my Masters degree in Public Policy from the University of Pennsylvania.

My work evolved from women’s health to political campaigns, to public policy to national service. Throughout my life, I have been blessed with strong advocates, who supported and challenged me to ‘find my voice’ and to create powerful change in my life.

Now my life’s work is to be that advocate for others. Pathways Advocacy Coaching supports and challenges my clients to ‘find their voices’ and to live fearless, principled lives through action and advocacy for themselves, their communities and their organizations.
